Youth For Music Weekend is HERE!!! Every February Flint Hills Music hosts a musical retreat for select students from the surrounding who meet in Emporia to learn and play together. On the first day they are presented with music that has been chosen by our guest director this year, Dr. Frank Tracz. He is professor of music and director of bands at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas. The students break up into sectionals to work with volunteer area teachers to learn these challenging pieces. By working alongside people from other locations the students forge relationships with others interested in music. On Sunday at 2:30 the entire group will showcase what they have learned by performing their new pieces of music at Lowther North intermediate School. Please come out to support them. A special thanks goes out to everyone behind the scenes that help us get this wonderful event together.

Hey everybody,
It’s 2008 now and lots of things are happening. We had some staffing changes so some old faces have gone while new ones have appeared. We are working overtime to make sure the change goes smoothly and we hope to be offering you some fresh ideas and this year should be the best one yet. We are still taking in information for the teachers on our lesson page. If you teach lessons or want to teach lessons just use our contact page and let me know…

Between today and Saturday we are running a special that you’re gonna love. With any guitar purchase we are giving away an ultra guitar stand. The reason for this is twofold. One, we want you to come by the store and see what we have in stock after christmas. Two, we don’t want any guitar we sell to end up damaged. These guitars are our children and we love them all.mk
